about

Released on TallTrees Fallen summer 2002. Features Philadelphia recording artist Nicki Jaine. Tells the story of madness and love gone wrong while referring the Arts Fair Riots at Penn State in 1998, Van Gogh, a popular make up commercial in 2001, The Three Stooges' Larry Fine, St. Patrick, Santa Claus, Independence Day, Ween, frozen vegetables, Dartmouth and whole a bunch of other random imagery...its tad wordy.

lyrics

I put a flower in a box
that I knew you would find
And a note for you to read
We don't have much time
I want you to head west
I'll let you know where I'll be
And if the riots aren't too bad
You can come and see me

The brakes are gone and I cannot steer
Staring straight at Van Gogh's Ear
Swimming in your pools of gold
You don't do anything your told
Do you believe in Santa Claus
You have no idea how much this all cost
The gun is yours and the knife is mine
I'll meet you at the home of Larry Fine
See you on Saint Patrick's Day
Light a Candle, make me a saint
So, Happy Fourth of July
I'll sing you Zeno's Lullaby

Those three guys in the back
They're drunker that Darthmouth boys
Get them out of here right now
I'm too old for their noise
There's a poison in your veins
he ripped rippled the railing from the wall
Frozen peas on a swollen foot
He can't walk he's passed out in the hall

The brakes are gone and I cannot steer
Staring straight at Van Gogh's Ear
Swimming in your pools of gold
You don't do anything your told
Do you believe in Santa Claus
You have no idea how much this all cost
The gun is yours and the knife is mine
I'll meet you at the home of Larry Fine
See you on Saint Patrick's Day
Light a Candle, make me a saint
So, Happy Fourth of July
I'll sing you Zeno's Lullaby

Now you're down on your knees
Choking on chocolate and cheese
Gas cap's locked, the tank empty
And you're adrift at sea
So on a dark stormy night
You search for some signs of life
Now you're back down on your knees
Choking on your disease

The brakes are gone and I cannot steer
Staring straight at Van Gogh's Ear
Swimming in your pools of gold
You don't do anything your told
Do you believe in Santa Claus
You have no idea how much this all cost
The gun is yours and the knife is mine
I'll meet you at the home of Larry Fine
See you on Saint Patrick's Day
Light a Candle, make me a saint
So, Happy Fourth of July
I'll sing you Zeno's Lullaby
